About the role#
Gaylor Electric offers a paid summer internship for college students. This 8-to-11 week program provides hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will apply academic concepts to real-world projects and develop professional skills. Interns work in various departments including Field, Manufacturing, Project Management, Engineering, BIM/VDC, Safety, Accounting, Human Resources, Education, Information Technology, and Marketing.
What you'll do#
- Apply concepts and theories from your major to daily work tasks.
- Develop technical and professional skills in your chosen field.
- Participate in resume development, interview preparation, and business discussions.
- Complete an academic capstone presentation or a craft skills assessment.
- Collaborate with team members across various job sites and office roles.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Architectural, Electrical, Civil, Construction), Occupational Health & Safety, Business, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.
- You possess grit, consistency, and a strong work ethic.
- You hold yourself accountable and remain customer focused.
- You demonstrate team spirit and strong communication skills.
- You are detail oriented and organized.
- You have a sense of purpose, resolve, and determination.
- You are excited to travel to new locations and project sites.
