About the role#
Gaylor Electric offers a paid summer internship program for college students. This 8-to-11 week program provides hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will apply concepts from your major to real-world projects and gain exposure to various business operations. The program concludes with a capstone presentation or a craft skills assessment.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in areas including field operations, manufacturing, project management, engineering, BIM/VDC, safety, accounting, HR, education, IT, or marketing.
- Participate in resume development, interview preparation, and business best practices discussions.
- Apply academic theories to practical work experiences.
- Network with professionals in the industry.
- Collaborate as a team member on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Architectural, Electrical, Civil, Construction), Occupational Health & Safety, Business, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to remain consistent.
- Grit and the determination to get the job done.
- Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- A customer-focused mindset and the ability to positively influence others.
- Willingness to travel to new locations and project sites.
- Ability to hold yourself accountable.
