About the role#
Gaylor Electric offers a paid summer internship program for college students. This 8-to-11 week program provides hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will apply academic theories to real-world projects while developing your professional skills. The program includes training in resume development, interview preparation, and networking.
What you'll do#
- Participate in technical skill development sessions.
- Engage in professionalism training and business best practices discussions.
- Apply concepts from your major field of study in a practical setting.
- Collaborate with team members on various construction and corporate projects.
- Complete an academic capstone presentation or a craft skills assessment.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Business, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong work ethic, consistency, and the ability to hold yourself accountable.
- Grit and a clear sense of purpose and resolve.
- Effective communication skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- A focus on the customer and a spirit of collaboration.
- Willingness to travel to new locations and project sites.
