About the role#
The IndyStar is hiring a fellow for the Pulliam Journalism Fellowship in Sports. This is a paid, full-time summer program for a college student or recent graduate. You will join our newsroom staff for 10 weeks to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. Night and weekend shifts are required.
What you'll do#
You will cover a wide range of assignments including news, sports, and features. Your work will balance still photography and video, including social video content. You will also have the chance to contribute to long-term projects, photo pages, and documentary videos. We expect you to generate your own story ideas and learn from our veteran staff.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a journalism, communications, or media studies degree program as of November 1, 2026.
- Demonstrated talent for video and sports journalism.
- A driven approach to reporting and storytelling.
- Willingness to pitch and develop original story ideas.
