About the role#
This internship focuses on using data analytics to drive business and performance outcomes in the real estate industry. You will work with the sustainability team to collect, analyze, and report on operational performance data across a national multifamily portfolio. The role involves using business intelligence and performance measurement to help inform strategic decisions regarding operational expenses and environmental initiatives. You will report directly to the Director of Sustainability.
What you'll do#
- Collect, validate, and analyze operational data from various sources to support portfolio performance tracking.
- Create reports and presentations to communicate business and environmental trends to internal stakeholders.
- Conduct data quality reviews to identify anomalies and improve data management processes.
- Analyze utility consumption and key performance indicators to spot risks and opportunities.
- Assist with financial and operational analyses to evaluate the impact of business initiatives.
- Support special projects related to business intelligence, portfolio analytics, and benchmarking.
What you'll need#
- A minimum GPA of 3.25.
- An academic background or career interest in data analytics, business analytics, finance, real estate, engineering, information systems, or environmental economics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to explain data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a self-motivated approach.
- Experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools is a plus.
