About the role#
The Excellerate Project Management Intern works with the project management and preconstruction teams to build industry knowledge and support ongoing projects. This is a full-time, paid position based in Olathe, Kansas. You will work Monday through Friday between 7 AM and 5 PM, with 15-20% travel required.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, organizing, and staffing of electrical and specialty systems construction projects.
- Visit jobsites to interact with crew members, customers, foremen, and general contractors.
- Review assigned portions of outgoing estimates with the Estimating Department.
- Contact vendors to secure materials for construction projects.
- Attend weekly and monthly meetings, including staffing and project management sessions.
- Process miscellaneous paperwork and handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited institution, actively working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency with a PC and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Accubid and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Relevant coursework, academic projects, or prior internships in construction or project management are helpful.
