About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of systems for metal 3D printing factories. You will work alongside our engineering team on projects ranging from mechanical design and prototyping to testing and integration. This role involves working on complex mechanical assemblies, precision motion systems, and thermal or fluid subsystems.
What you'll do#
- Own a project from start to finish that impacts our print factory capabilities.
- Design, build, prototype, and test mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems.
- Perform tolerance analysis and mechanical feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to improve system performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Participate in hands-on builds, system integration, and validation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for mechanical or aerospace engineering at an ABET accredited university.
- Hands-on design experience gained through internships or engineering clubs.
- A strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of motion control and kinematics.
- A desire to improve the state of metal 3D printing.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Los Angeles, California.
