About the role#
Franklin University is hiring a Student Desktop Technician to provide technology support for students, faculty, and staff. This role involves direct interaction via phone, email, and in-person visits to resolve hardware and software issues. You will work on-site in Columbus, Ohio, with a flexible schedule of 20 to 25 hours per week between Monday and Friday.
What you'll do#
- Set up and deploy university laptops and desktops.
- Provide hardware and software support through remote and on-site assistance.
- Install and update applications.
- Manage inventory and escalate high-impact technical issues when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Franklin University student.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Capability to lift up to 60 pounds, including equipment like monitors, printers, and desktops.
- Experience in a help desk or call center environment is preferred, as is familiarity with Windows operating systems and PC hardware.
