About the role#
Four Seasons Hotel Montreal is looking for a Cook 2 trainee for the Marcus restaurant. You will prepare food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment. This role requires a focus on quality, consistency, and professional collaboration with your team.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food with consistent quality based on guest orders, following recipes and presentation standards.
- Set up your station for service and manage food preparation to meet estimated needs.
- Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, mixers, and grills.
- Date all food containers and rotate stock according to policies, ensuring perishable items are stored at the correct temperature.
- Check inventory levels for shifts, note potential shortages, and return unused items to designated storage areas.
- Assist with vegetable and condiment preparation for upcoming shifts.
What you'll need#
- Education from a culinary school or institute, or equivalent experience.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a culinary or related field.
- Proficiency with knife skills and the ability to multitask in a busy kitchen.
- Ability to operate and clean various kitchen appliances.
- Good communication skills in both French and English.
- Ability to move throughout the facility and stand for long periods.
