About the role#
As an Audit Intern at Forvis Mazars, you will gain practical experience in public accounting. You will work on client engagements similar to those assigned to entry-level associates, providing exposure to various industries. You will work alongside senior staff and management, learning from their experience as you develop your professional skillset.
What you'll do#
- Complete audit testing on financial statement accounts including cash, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
- Work with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data.
- Help draft management letter comments and the audit report.
- Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers.
What you'll need#
- Solid technical accounting knowledge.
- Effective time management and strong communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A problem-solving attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
- Close attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure against deadlines.
- Must be working toward CPA Exam eligibility.
- Satisfactory academic performance in major-related coursework and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
