About the role#
The Human Resources Intern joins our team to support a wide range of people operations and strategic initiatives. You will work alongside HR professionals and business leaders to gain hands-on experience in talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development. This role is designed for students who want to understand how HR functions partner with the business to attract and retain talent.
What you'll do#
- Manage new hire onboarding, including orientation scheduling and Day 1 coordination.
- Support internal communications like newsletters, policy updates, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain employee records and handle data entry or reporting within the HRIS.
- Assist with employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and survey planning.
- Support talent management cycles, including performance reviews and succession planning.
- Coordinate compliance training and keep accurate training records.
- Compile HR metrics and workforce analytics to help inform business decisions.
- Assist with compensation projects, such as market data analysis and incentive administration.
- Handle general administrative tasks, including monitoring the HR inbox and processing invoices.
- Support exit interview processes and report on retention trends.
- Participate in special projects focused on process improvement and the employee experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's program for Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- An analytical mindset capable of interpreting data and identifying trends.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A willingness to take initiative, learn quickly, and contribute to process improvements.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Romeoville, Illinois.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: Hybrid role requiring residency within a reasonable commuting distance of the Romeoville office.
- Schedule: 20 to 30 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
