The Field Development Internship Program offers hands-on experience at FMC Corporation research stations during the summer of 2026. Interns work alongside research teams to support the evaluation of pre-commercial crop protection compounds, gaining insight into field testing, early synthesis, and registration requirements while adhering to corporate safety guidelines.
What you'll do#
Interns assist field station managers with the execution of the station evaluation program. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up small plot field trials and performing plot maintenance.
- Calibrating equipment, measuring and mixing pesticides, and spraying plots.
- Collecting data, monitoring insect traps, and conducting field scouting.
- Assisting with general farm operations such as planting, cultivating, irrigating, discing, or mowing.
- Summarizing field trial results using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internal computer systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an agricultural, plant sciences, or related degree program, with at least one year of undergraduate studies completed.
- Ability to carry a 20 to 50 lb. backpack while walking on uneven ground.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word.
- Experience handling farm equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
