About the role#
As a Field Engineer Intern, you will work on-site at a project location to apply your academic training in a real-world setting. You will assist the project manager, project engineer, and on-site construction staff by applying engineering principles and techniques to daily operations. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate field conditions and perform acceptance testing.
- Support quality assurance and quality control for engineering materials testing.
- Use survey knowledge to assist with project layout and verify that work conforms to plans and specifications.
- Review project drawings, coordinate design changes, and manage document control for submittals and design releases.
- Initiate engineering design clarifications and provide design assistance for temporary structures.
- Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in preparing and updating project schedules.
- Manage subcontractor field operations and verify contract payments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field at an accredited institution.
- Working knowledge of plan interpretation, project specifications, and construction schedules.
- Ability to assist with quality assurance and quality control testing.
- Familiarity with engineering design clarifications and document control procedures.
