Field Engineer Intern

About the role#

As a Field Engineer Intern at FlatironDragados, you will work on-site to apply your academic training in a real-world construction setting. You will assist the project manager, project engineer, and on-site staff by applying engineering principles, methods, and techniques to support project operations.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing.
• Support quality assurance and quality control through materials testing.
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and verify work conforms to plans and specifications.
• Review project drawings, coordinate design changes, and initiate engineering design clarifications.
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, and design releases.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to maximize operational efficiency.
• Assist with preparing and updating project schedules.
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for temporary structures using computer-aided design tools.
• Manage subcontractor field operations and verify contract payments.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field at an accredited institution.
• Working knowledge of plan interpretation, project specifications, and construction schedules.
• Familiarity with engineering design clarifications and document control.
• Ability to assist with quality assurance and quality control materials testing.
