About the role#
This is a hands-on building role where you will work with cross-functional stakeholders to design, prototype, and deploy AI-powered solutions. You will take ownership of projects from start to finish, including understanding business processes, redesigning them with AI, and iterating on solutions based on real-world performance. You will join a cohort of peers and receive support through a professional development track and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Build and deploy automations using low-code platforms and custom code to improve business workflows.
- Integrate AI models via APIs into automation pipelines.
- Deploy and maintain applications on cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate different tools and approaches for new projects, considering factors like speed and maintainability.
- Test work thoroughly with a focus on accuracy and edge cases.
- Iterate on proof-of-concept solutions based on feedback.
- Keep clear documentation on how solutions are built.
- Support AI tool pilots and create training materials for users.
What you'll need#
- Current graduate student in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or JavaScript.
- Basic understanding of APIs, webhooks, and how web services communicate.
- Comfort working with AI tools in a development or productivity context.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools quickly.
- Experience with low-code or no-code automation platforms like Zapier, Make, Power Automate, or Workato is preferred.
- Experience building and deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and development environments like VS Code is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to June 2027).
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week, 5 days in office).
- Eligibility: Open exclusively to current Northeastern University Co-Op students.
- Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour.
