About the role#
As a Development Engineer Intern, you will focus on laser processes within our energy technology team. You will lead the optimization of a laser scribe process specifically for our perovskite development project. This position provides hands-on experience in a production environment where you will contribute to technical projects and collaborate with team members across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Execute tests and experiments to optimize laser processes.
- Summarize experimental data and analyze trends using charts and graphs.
- Present technical data and project summaries to the leadership team.
- Learn to operate, modify, and calibrate production equipment and systems.
- Communicate regularly with associates at all levels.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a STEM degree program, specifically Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Interest in lasers or photonics.
- Programming experience with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or Seeeduino.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft environment technologies.
- Ability to apply statistical methods to data analysis.
- Familiarity with basic electrical components.
- Comfort speaking in formal meeting settings.
Location & details#
- Location: Perrysburg, Ohio.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4th through May 17th).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position.
- Physical Requirements: This role requires the ability to stand or walk for up to 12 hours, lift up to 58 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment including safety glasses and respirators.
