About the role#
The Development Engineer Intern will support engineering activities during 1.5 or 2nd shift operations in Perrysburg, Ohio. You will gain hands-on experience by operating process and testing equipment, collecting data, and collaborating with engineers to investigate equipment or process excursions. This position requires a commitment to safety and the ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Achieve qualification and operate designated development engineering tools and equipment.
- Prepare and distribute clear daily shift pass-down reports regarding process performance and key observations.
- Monitor, collect, and analyze process data to support troubleshooting activities.
- Support finishing operations for PKA inline runs.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify process opportunities.
- Present your accomplishments and a project summary to the leadership team at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a senior undergraduate or graduate student in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong academic standing.
- Fundamental understanding of materials science, mechanical and electrical concepts, and statistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with technical data.
- Ability to follow standardized work instructions and maintain high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with polymer science, materials characterization, Instron testing equipment, failure analysis, or statistical process control is helpful.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 37 pounds, climb stairs, and wear required personal protective equipment including steel-toed shoes and respirators when necessary.
