About the role#
First Solar is hiring a Data Science Intern for the Spring 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Perrysburg, Ohio. You will work directly with Data Scientists on various analysis projects, helping the team solve problems and extract value from data. You will also present your project summary and accomplishments to the leadership team at the end of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Build custom analytical tools and develop data extraction pipelines.
- Contribute to automated scripting for larger software packages.
- Clean and analyze data to provide actionable insights.
- Select features and develop machine learning models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform ad hoc analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program (3rd year or later) in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- Completion of coursework in mathematics, statistics, programming, or data science.
- Proficiency in Python or R, with familiarity in SQL.
- Experience with data analysis and modeling projects.
- At least 2 years of experience collaborating in a team setting.
- Ability to independently learn new syntax from coding manuals and interpret existing scripts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows environments.
Location & details#
- Location: Perrysburg, Ohio.
- Term: 3 months, Spring 2027.
- Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, or walk for up to 12 hours, lift up to 58 pounds, and wear required personal protective equipment including steel-toed shoes and safety glasses.
