About the role#
As a Risk & Compliance Intern, you will work with the Legal, Risk and Compliance team at First Business Bank. You will report to the Chief Risk Officer and support projects involving enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and fraud. This role offers the chance to learn from professionals at a publicly traded financial services company. You will also participate in mentorship, training, and company immersion experiences.
What you'll do#
- Support the team with projects related to enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Set up existing vendors in the vendor management system and assess their inherent and residual risks.
- Develop risk assessments to identify inherent risks, controls, and residual risks for eight independent business lines.
- Help coordinate the collection of information for bank audits and reviews.
- Organize team files across multiple databases and create a library for document tracking.
- Update presentations and reporting for various management committees.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong technology skills, specifically with Excel.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated drive, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Modality: Fully on-site.
- Schedule: This position runs from June 2027 through May 2028. You must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week during the school year.
- Compensation: This is a paid, full-time internship.
