About the role#
As a Consumer Banking Operations Intern, you will learn the fundamentals of banking operations. You will support projects focused on quality assurance, risk management, procedure management, and operational improvements. This role provides exposure to banking processes, internal controls, and regulatory requirements while offering opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation.
What you'll do#
- Support the review, development, and maintenance of procedures and documentation.
- Assist with risk management activities, including audit or compliance research, tracking, and follow-up.
- Analyze processes and data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Explore ways to automate or streamline manual operational tasks.
- Assist with testing proposed process, system, or automation enhancements.
- Prepare reports, process maps, and recommendations based on your research.
- Gain knowledge of banking products, services, and systems.
- Develop professional relationships across the bank.
- Build skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity while handling information.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Attend required meetings and complete compliance training.

- This is a paid, part-time internship.
- The role is on-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, or Brookings, South Dakota.
- Hiring occurs on a rolling basis.
