About the role#
This internship is based within the CI Ops Engineering Team at Fenner Precision Polymers. You will work on individual and cross-functional projects throughout the summer of 2027. The role includes professional career development and community outreach opportunities. At the end of the term, you will deliver a final project presentation to the executive leadership team. Assignments may take place at any of our Lancaster county plant locations.
What you'll do#
- Learn the requirements for executing capital engineering projects.
- Assist with key project milestones and deliverables.
- Use our project governance model to track progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Build proficiency in emerging technologies, such as AI-enabled tools, to help with data analysis and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate on machine design and development with our team and external partners.
- Develop an understanding of continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing principles.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, or Controls Engineering program.
- Completion of at least one year of college or technical school in a related field.
- Ability to use AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong work ethic, responsibility, and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Prior exposure to manufacturing is a plus.
