About the role#
The Economic Research Internship is a 12-week summer program based in Chicago. You will work 40 hours per week within one of our research departments, such as macroeconomics, microeconomics, financial economics, community development, or regional research. This is a paid position designed for students who want to build their research portfolios or explore future opportunities in the field.
What you'll do#
- Support economists in basic and applied research projects.
- Collect and organize data for analysis.
- Conduct moderately complex statistical analysis.
- Assist with the research and analysis of policy issues and events.
- Prepare charts, tables, and descriptive text for staff and management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor’s degree, with a graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
- A major in economics, finance, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills through research experience.
- Experience using data or programming languages such as Stata, R, Python, MATLAB, or ArcGIS.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
