About the role#
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is hiring an intern for the Internal Audit department for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago. You will gain hands-on experience in financial services while learning how internal audit functions within a governance framework.
What you'll do#
- Assist with audit tasks across various Bank operations.
- Identify control issues and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Work with the audit team to implement new data analytic use cases.
- Improve internal processes.
- Contribute to key elements of the assurance program.
- Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with other interns on a Summer Capstone Project, including designing and presenting the project to the Bank.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution.
- A GPA of at least 3.0 and good academic standing.
- An interest in banking or financial services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and curious mind-set.
- Majors in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
