About the role#
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is seeking a summer intern to join the Credit Analysis team. This role provides hands-on experience in financial services through projects that support our credit risk operations. You will work in an in-office environment alongside team members to support our mission of providing funds to support home ownership.
What you'll do#
- Perform financial analysis to inform decisions regarding our members.
- Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to support business strategy.
- Use Business Intelligence tools like Tableau and SQL to extract large data sets, perform analyses, and create reports for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor performance trends and risk limits to minimize the risk of default and loss.
- Research economic trends using industry reports, public information, and regulatory insights.
- Gain exposure to financial modeling, validation, back-testing, and benchmarking.
- Support cross-team initiatives and share ideas with stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited institution.
- Academic focus in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or a related business discipline.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
