About the role#
FAIRWINDS Credit Union is looking for an IT Desktop Technician Intern to join the Information Systems team. This internship provides hands-on experience with front-line technical support in a professional office setting. You will work 20 hours per week while learning how enterprise IT teams operate.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic desktop and end-user support.
- Assist with the setup, imaging, and deployment of laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing and collecting equipment.
- Document and track tickets in an IT service management system.
- Maintain IT inventory and asset records.
- Shadow IT team members to learn troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
- Contribute to basic documentation and knowledge base updates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certificate program related to IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and common applications.
- An interest in hardware, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and learn quickly.
- Reliability, organization, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

- Location: Orlando, Florida.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
