About the role#
F&G is hiring an IT Software Engineer intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will report to the Software Engineering team and gain experience in software development life cycle, data management, and general delivery support. This position is a paid, full-time opportunity based in Des Moines, Iowa, with a hybrid work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Develop, test, document, and implement software enhancements.
- Troubleshoot applications to resolve production issues and assist users with problem resolution.
- Work with business subject matter experts to analyze and validate data for stakeholders.
- Support teams using Agile processes and tools.
- Create release documentation and complete general administrative team tasks.
- Analyze and solve business problems.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- Knowledge of Python, Java, C++, or Microsoft .NET.
- Experience with SQL Server database development using SQL.
- Familiarity with Agile, SDLC, or API principles.
- Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Jira, Teams, MS Team Foundation Services, Eclipse, Git, or Work Otter.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on completing duties accurately.
