About the role#
As a Structural Design Intern, you will join our Building Structures team in Chicago. This team focuses on aviation, transit, and mission critical projects. You will report to the Director of Building Structures and work alongside in-house staff and other design professionals.
What you'll do#
- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for various buildings and materials using building codes.
- Conduct existing surveys and document main structural systems and connections.
- Assist with the direction, coordination, planning, and completion of projects.
- Use a wide variety of structural analysis and design software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Structural Engineering program at a US accredited university, with a preference for Master's degree students.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the MS Office suite.
- Experience with REVIT is highly preferred.
- Design and analysis experience in reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with existing structures, building modification, or restoration is a plus.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and the self-motivation to meet deadlines.
