About the role#
As a Geotechnical Engineering Student, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting construction and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on field testing and provides an opportunity to develop technical skills through practical work in geotechnical and environmental engineering.
What you'll do#
- Conduct soil compaction testing using a soil density gauge.
- Perform concrete field tests, including slump and air content.
- Cast concrete test cylinders.
- Observe asphalt placement and conduct sampling and compaction testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related program.
- A valid driver license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to job sites.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, such as soil density gauges and concrete cylinders.
- Comfort reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
