About the role#
The ITG PMO intern works with the Information Technology Project Management Office. You will assist team members on IT projects and help maintain necessary project deliverables. This role provides insight into how Encompass Health executes projects using standardized methodologies, tools, and audit requirements.
What you'll do#
- Engage with cross-functional departments, clinical staff, technical resources, and vendors to complete project tasks.
- Help manage project deadlines and coordinate aspects of project delivery.
- Participate in requirements gathering and end user interviews.
- Support the design and development phases and oversee testing completion.
- Attend project team and status meetings.
- Prepare status updates and reports.
- Create required project artifacts while following IT audit requirements.
- Protect sensitive information.
- Participate in all intern-specific activities.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline.
- An interest in the project management office.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Coursework in a related field is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site at our home office in Birmingham, Alabama.
- The term runs from June 7, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
- We do not offer sponsorship for this position.
