About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanic Intern to join our Equipment team for the summer of 2026. This role offers hands-on experience working with our technicians to maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. You will build a technical foundation for a career in the construction industry while working in both shop and outdoor field environments.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair work on company equipment.
- Observe and participate in diagnosing equipment issues.
- Help perform preventative maintenance tasks to keep equipment running well.
- Maintain equipment-related reports, logs, and metrics.
- Work with mechanics, equipment managers, and field staff to support our operations.
- Follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree or technical program, such as Diesel or Heavy Equipment Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or Construction Management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, outdoor, or shop setting.
- A basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools is helpful but not required.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
