About the role#
As a Project Engineering Co-op, you will work on automation and control technologies that support critical infrastructure, including renewable energy, power generation, and water treatment. Based in Detroit, you will move beyond observation to contribute directly to engineering projects while learning from industry experts. This role offers exposure to the full lifecycle of engineering solutions, from initial design to final system testing.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects focused on reliable energy generation and clean water infrastructure.
- Collaborate with a global team of engineers and technical professionals.
- Apply automation technologies, engineering processes, and company products to real-world challenges.
- Support application design, engineering execution, and project delivery activities.
- Gain hands-on exposure to customer sites, field activities, vendor visits, manufacturing processes, and system testing.
- Partner with senior engineers for mentorship and professional development.
- Work with fellow co-op students on team-based and cross-functional projects.
- Build technical, project, and problem-solving skills.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or another related Engineering discipline.
- Enrollment in a formal co-op program with the ability and interest to return for multiple rotations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
