About the role#
DeBra-Kuempel is hiring a Construction Safety Manager Co-op for the spring semester. You will work with the Safety Department to gain hands-on experience in construction safety. This role involves supporting safety initiatives, managing documentation, and working directly with field and office teams to reinforce safety practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist with maintaining, promoting, and enforcing project site safety based on company and federal policies.
- Manage PPE inventory, including distribution and tracking for personnel.
- Conduct job site visits, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards.
- Document safety observations and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate and track required safety training and certifications.
- Support administrative tasks such as organizing safety files and compliance records.
- Participate in incident investigations and near-miss reporting.
- Assist with employee onboarding and safety orientation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong interest in construction safety and risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a construction environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.

- The role is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid co-op position.
- You may need to travel locally to job sites and office locations.
- The work environment involves both office settings and field sites, where you may be exposed to outdoor weather, dust, and varying noise levels.
