About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship based in Champlin, Minnesota. You will gain practical experience supporting the engineering and manufacturing of electrical and mechanical equipment. This role is on-site.
What you'll do#
- Purchase materials from suppliers for industrial control panel design and manufacturing.
- Research and select alternative materials and suppliers with project teams.
- Manage the return of unused and overstock materials.
- Work with suppliers to improve quoting and purchasing processes.
- Help implement new estimating tools and process improvements.
- Support the production coordinator by managing material shortages and reprioritizing work activities.
- Provide supply chain updates and assist with meeting on-time delivery metrics.
What you'll need#
- Completed or current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Accurate and detail-oriented computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with various co-workers and customers.
