About the role#
This paid internship provides hands-on experience across the modular fabrication lifecycle. You will work with the estimating, project management, and shop operations teams to learn how projects are planned, priced, coordinated, and executed. This role is based in Sharonville, Ohio, for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist the estimating team with quantity takeoffs, material pricing, labor estimates, and bid preparation.
- Review project drawings and specifications to understand scope.
- Support project managers with planning, scheduling, documentation, and tracking project costs.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate with internal departments.
- Spend time on the shop floor to learn how modular projects move into production.
- Work with shop leadership to understand manpower planning, workflows, and fabrication processes.
- Identify potential scheduling or material constraints.
- Gain exposure to safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in industrial construction, fabrication, or project management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both an office and a fabrication shop environment.
- Comfort working with project managers, estimators, engineers, and craft professionals.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Previous experience in construction, fabrication, or manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
