About the role#
Edmonton Catholic Schools offers an Internship Pathway for aspiring Educational Assistants. This program provides a supported entry into the field, helping participants gain practical skills and an understanding of inclusive learning communities. The program requires a full-time commitment for five weeks. Upon successful completion and certification, participants are expected to continue their employment as an Educational Assistant within the division.
What you'll do#
- Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and implementing programs to meet student needs.
- Organize classroom materials, activities, equipment, and programs.
- Support the multi-disciplinary team with developmental strategies.
- Manage student behaviour.
- Provide personal and physical care.
- Help co-workers during peak periods and absences.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children is an asset.
- Current resume and 3 professional references.
- A current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- A current Child Intervention Record Check.
- Ability to travel to sites within Edmonton.
