About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Group Fitness Pilates Instructor to work at The WELL. This is a part-time, casual position based in Sacramento, California. You will develop and lead group exercise classes while maintaining a safe environment for participants.
What you'll do#
- Lead group exercise, dance, or martial arts classes using sound exercise principles.
- Monitor all activities to ensure participant safety.
- Respond to injuries and emergencies by activating the emergency action plan.
- Communicate clearly with staff and class participants.
- Answer customer service questions in a positive manner.
- Enforce policies for The WELL and Campus Recreation.
- Assist in promoting events held at The WELL.
- Attend all-staff meetings and pre-semester training sessions.
- Foster professional standards among the staff team.
What you'll need#
- Mat Pilates instructor certification from STOTT Pilates, Balanced Body, or a similar recognized association.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- A firm grasp of exercise science.
- Ability to develop and lead group exercise classes.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
- A desire to work in recreation as part of a team.
- Previous experience in fitness, dance, or martial arts is preferred.
- A major or minor in Kinesiology, RPTA, or an exercise science field is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Casual employees are limited to a maximum of 19.5 hours per work week.
