About the role#
This Graduate Assistant position supports the SFI Instrument Subcommittee within the Psychology department. You will assist with the validation, analysis, and reporting of the SFI instrument. This role requires 20 hours of work per week, totaling 300 hours per semester. The pay rate is $8.34 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Attend all SFI Committee and Instrument Subcommittee meetings.
- Meet weekly with your assigned point of contact for project updates.
- Review relevant SFI documents, minutes, recordings, and prior recommendations.
- Coordinate and run virtual focus groups for faculty participants.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on pilot data, including factor analysis.
- Assist with the recruitment and deployment of pilot participants across multiple campuses.
- Facilitate follow-up perception surveys for students and faculty.
- Support additional focus groups with stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare a final report with recommendations for metric revisions and implementation guidelines.
- Assist with on-site supervision during project-related activities.
What you'll need#
- Admission to an East Stroudsburg University graduate program.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related social science field.
- Formalized training and practical experience in applied statistics and research design.
- Experience in psychometric development, validation, and qualitative analysis.
- Proficiency in data collection, coding, and cleaning from human participants.
- Strong computer competency and excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Advanced computer skills, knowledge of research software, and experience with focus groups or survey administration are preferred.
