About the role#
This is a long-term, year-round co-op position based in Midland, Michigan. You will support the Litigation group by handling administrative and operational tasks while continuing your undergraduate studies. This role requires a commitment of at least one full calendar year. You will work on-site during regular business hours, between 16 and 30 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support attorneys and paralegals with litigation matters and legal projects.
- Maintain legal records, matter information, and reporting within management systems.
- Assist with document management, discovery activities, legal holds, and records retention.
- Coordinate legal communications, correspondence, and information requests.
- Support outside counsel administration, including budgeting, invoice processing, and matter tracking.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports, presentations, and summaries.
- Collaborate with legal, business, and functional teams on litigation-related activities.
- Participate in legal operations, process improvement, and special project initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university near the Midland site.
- Completion of at least 6 credit hours per term during the Fall and Winter terms.
- A GPA of 3.000 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in litigation, legal operations, risk management, compliance, or corporate law.
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
