About the role#
The Southeast Development Intern supports the development team by assisting with the real estate development process. This role involves working on market analysis, financial modeling, and project planning for affordable housing communities. You will work alongside analysts, associates, and project partners to move projects from initial evaluation through construction administration. This is a full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Conduct market research on demographic trends, rental rates, and occupancy levels.
- Build and update financial models and cash flow projections for development projects.
- Evaluate prospective acquisitions by reviewing financial, operational, and property data.
- Compile materials for financing and tax credit applications.
- Manage construction matrices, project schedules, and development trackers.
- Review investment agreements, legal documents, and due diligence materials.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support project planning and administration.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle confidential business information with discretion.
- Capacity to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Interest in real estate development or finance, with a preference for candidates interested in affordable housing.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 7, 2027, to May 21, 2027).
- This position is paid and requires full-time, on-site attendance.
