About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join our integrated design team in Orlando. You will contribute to the design of mechanical systems for a variety of building types and sizes. This is a paid, full-time position within our Emerging Professional Experience program. You will work alongside mechanical engineers and other design professionals to gain hands-on experience through the full project lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a licensed engineer to design mechanical systems for new construction and building renovations.
- Attend design team meetings to observe coordination across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Assist in the design and development of construction documents, primarily using Revit.
- Develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs from initial concept through completion.
- Visit active construction sites to see design work in practice.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year at an ABET-accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program.
- Experience or interest in BIM workflows, specifically Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Preferred: Status as a third-year student in an accredited engineering program.
- Preferred: A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Preferred: An interest in architectural building design.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We do not offer visa sponsorship.
