About the role#
As a Lighting Design Intern, you will join our integrated design team to help create lighting systems for a variety of building types and complexities. You will work alongside electrical engineers, architects, and interior designers to gain experience through the entire project lifecycle, from early concepts to construction administration. This is a paid, full-time position as part of our Emerging Professional Experience program, running from May 18 through August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with architects and engineers within an integrated design process.
- Learn BIM tools, technology, and workflows used to deliver projects.
- Assist with design concepts, calculations, modeling, drawing reviews, and project execution.
- Perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling using Autodesk Revit.
- Join team members on site visits to see project results in the real world.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a third-year student in an accredited Lighting Design, Architecture, or Electrical Engineering program, or a similar field.
- Experience with drafting programs like Revit.
- Experience with lighting calculation software such as AGi32, ElumTools, or LightStanza.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A goal-oriented mindset with a focus on problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
- A strong desire to learn the architecture and engineering design process.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Cleveland, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; or Las Vegas, Nevada.
- This position is paid with a suggested hourly rate of $20 to $26 USD, depending on location, experience, and skills.
