About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern in our Cleveland studio, you will join our integrated design team for the summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside licensed engineers on various building projects. This is a full-time, paid position that runs from May 18 through August 6, 2027. You will be part of our Emerging Professional Experience program, which includes mentorship, project work, and weekly learning sessions.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a licensed engineer to design electrical systems for new construction and building renovation projects.
- Attend design team meetings to observe how multi-disciplinary teams coordinate their work.
- Help develop construction documents, primarily using Revit.
- Visit an active construction site to see projects in progress.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program.
- Experience or interest in BIM workflows, specifically Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, as we do not provide visa sponsorship.
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and an interest in architectural building design are preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
- The position is on-site. DLR Group follows a four-day in-office model, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
