About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will join our integrated design team to contribute to the design process of civil building systems. You will work on projects of varying types, sizes, and complexities, spanning from initial schematics through construction administration. This role is part of our Emerging Professional Experience program, which pairs hands-on project work with mentorship and learning sessions to help you build a foundation for your career in the AEC industry.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with architects and engineers within our integrated design process.
- Create and coordinate documents using Autodesk Civil 3D software.
- Perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling using Autodesk Revit.
- Assist the team with civil engineering calculations and code research.
- Help write and review civil-related specifications.
- Develop concepts, modeling, and drawing reviews for project execution.
- Learn BIM tools, technology, and workflows.
- Accompany team members on visits to project sites.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year at an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Currently a third-year student in an accredited engineering program.
- Experience with drafting programs such as Revit.
- Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and switch between projects effectively.
- Capacity to work both individually and within a team.
- A genuine desire to learn about the architecture and engineering design process.
- Interest in sustainable building design and low-impact site and landscape design.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of landscape engineering and architectural systems.
Location & details#
- Location: Orlando, Florida.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 18 through August 6, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid (four days in-office, with flexibility on Fridays).
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
