Interior Design Intern

About the role#

As an Interior Design Intern, you will support a design team on new construction and renovation projects within the senior living industry. This role provides hands-on experience in developing technical skills and contributing to design solutions that impact residents and staff.

What you'll do#

• Support the design team across multiple phases of new construction and renovation projects.
• Research life safety, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with space planning, concept development, and the articulation of design intent.
• Develop preliminary drawings and client-facing materials, including renderings, boards, and presentations.
• Prepare project documentation, including binders, registrations, and support materials.
• Coordinate reselections and contribute to the creation and organization of construction document legends.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Interior Design program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree).
• Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work 15–20 hours per week during the academic year.
• Ability to work full-time during summer and academic breaks.
• Majors in Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration are also considered.
