About the role#
Dennis Group is looking for a Structural Engineer Intern to join our team in Austin for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position focused on the design and safety of industrial food and beverage facilities. You will work on-site to support the design, permitting, and structural analysis of new and existing processing facilities.
What you'll do#
- Apply engineering principles to a variety of materials and construction techniques.
- Perform hand calculations and build computer analysis models for structural design.
- Identify and apply the correct building codes for project sites.
- Coordinate structural work with other disciplines on the project team.
- Create sketches, contract drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Academic or practical experience performing structural calculations and creating analysis models.
- Experience or coursework in structural and concrete drafting using AutoCAD.
- An EIT or FE certification is desirable.
