About the role#
As a Construction Manager Intern, you will function as a site supervisor for food and beverage facility projects. You will work on-site to oversee daily construction operations, coordinate sub-contractors, and manage project schedules and budgets. This role involves collaboration with engineering teams, architects, and clients to ensure projects progress from planning through to facility startup.
What you'll do#
- Oversee daily construction activities and coordinate sub-contractors.
- Monitor site safety programs, project schedules, and budgets.
- Review and maintain submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate field engineering, inspections, and third-party testing.
- Prepare and maintain project reports and logs.
- Assist with project accounting, cost management, and client billing.
- Support the installation of process, mechanical, and utility equipment.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Architecture.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Previous job site experience on industrial building projects.
- Proficiency with Excel and MS Project is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and budgets.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, owners, and sub-contractors.
- Ability to work 10-hour days in an on-site environment.
Location & details#
- Location: San Antonio, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: This is a full-time, on-site role. You will work a 10 days on, 4 days off schedule.
- Travel: This position requires up to 100% travel to project sites throughout the USA and Canada. You must be willing to relocate to project sites as needed.
- Physical requirements: You will be required to stand and walk on uneven surfaces, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. You must be able to work in various weather conditions and be on-call for site emergencies.
