About the role#
As a Channel Development Intern, you will work within the Fleet Services Group Aftermarket department. This role focuses on the commercial aspects of business, specifically expanding and developing sales channels for services. You will engage with cross-functional teams including finance, dealer operations, sales, and network development to support aftermarket service products and connectivity domains. This position offers exposure to commercial topics such as supplier scouting, contracting, and financial modeling as they relate to parts and service business growth.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on channel models and industry best practices.
- Analyze customer segments, product applications, and competitive channel strategies.
- Support the development of market landscape views and identify white-space opportunities.
- Assist in building preliminary business cases and opportunity sizing.
- Compile and analyze data to track channel KPIs and pilot performance.
- Maintain and update dashboards for reporting.
- Identify and profile potential partners while documenting their capabilities and alignment with channel strategy.
- Prepare comparison frameworks to aid in partner evaluation.
- Create presentations, proposal materials, and summaries of key insights for executive decision forums.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather project inputs and track initiative progress.
- Support operational readiness, including the creation of partner onboarding materials and playbooks.
- Document processes, frameworks, and execution plans for handover to sales or operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program or higher, or graduation within 1 year of the start date.
- Ability to develop channel strategies aligned with business goals.
- Expertise in business modeling and forecasting.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skills in building relationships with channel partners, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with digital channels, e-commerce platforms, and sales enablement tools like CRM.
- Understanding of truck lifecycle maintenance, dealer operations, and parts and service sales.
- Knowledge of the used truck market, warranty features, and buyer personas for ASP and CSG products.
- Understanding of business dynamics across various customer segments.
