About the role#
Reporting to the Communications Manager, this co-op position supports public relations and communications initiatives that strengthen the D2L brand. You will gain hands-on experience in content development, media monitoring, and communications reporting while working alongside technical experts, sales, and marketing professionals. This role is a full-time, on-site opportunity for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Monitor daily media coverage and compile the company media scan.
- Update and maintain the media opportunity tracker.
- Add earned media coverage to the D2L Newsroom.
- Build and format press releases for the Newsroom.
- Draft initial versions of press releases and other communications materials.
- Create social media copy to support press release announcements.
- Track customer wins to assist with outreach for quarterly earnings releases.
- Research and support various PR team projects and communications reporting.
- Identify ways to improve team workflows and processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism.
- You must not graduate prior to the start of this co-op role.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong organization, time management, and project management abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Creativity and curiosity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Interest and acumen regarding Artificial Intelligence tools.
- Experience with WordPress or other content management systems is preferred.
- Experience with media monitoring, communications reporting, or analytics is preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid position with a weekly salary range of $880 to $1,120 CAD.
