About the role#
This 13-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in subsurface resource exploration and management within the geothermal industry. You will work directly with the Geothermal Resources team to complete a project tailored to your specific discipline. Your work will contribute to areas such as reservoir management, geochemical characterization, and geoscience data management.
What you'll do#
- Build a working knowledge of geothermal systems by combining independent study with mentorship.
- Create a project roadmap and manage its execution over the 13-week term.
- Perform specific technical tasks, such as geologic framework mapping or reservoir characterization.
- Deliver a final report and present your recommendations based on your project outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly in English to engineers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to wear company-standard personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Availability for domestic travel to field and office locations up to 5% of the time.

- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Reno, Nevada.
- The internship runs for 13 weeks, typically from mid-May to mid-August 2027, with flexibility for school schedules.
