About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to gain hands-on experience in retail operations. This role focuses on developing your professional skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap to learn pharmacy team functions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call them to clarify orders or facilitate medication changes.
- Handle basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
