About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you prepare for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Support the pharmacy team with prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Assist in operating according to standard operating procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccinations and support immunization services where allowed by law.
- Maintain inventory, including cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Assist with telephonic prescriptions and clarify information with prescribers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong focus and attention to detail when performing tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
